Aftercare
The Healing Process
Aftercare is integral to your well-being and the longevity of your stunning brows at Nouveau Canvas Ink. We believe that proper care and maintenance are crucial for the best possible final results. Follow these essential guidelines to keep your brows looking flawless and to promote a healthy healing process.
DAY 1
- After getting your eyebrows done, your tattoo will have its colour and shape intact.
- Take this opportunity to show them off, but remember not to touch your brows for 24 hours.
- You can gently wash them with simple soap and water and pat dry 24 hours after your initial appointment.
DAY 2 - 4
- During this period, your tattooed eyebrows may appear darker.
- Embrace the bold look or adjust your makeup for a bolder appearance.
- Don’t worry; this dark healing stage is a normal part of the process and will pass. Remember, it’s temporary.
DAY 5 - 7
- Your eyebrows will start to dry and flake naturally.
- Although it may be tempting, avoid peeling the flakes as it could result in patchy healing and cause the pigment not to stay in the skin.
- If you experience any itchiness, use the moisturizer provided in your care package to keep your tattooed brows moisturized.
DAY 8 - 10
- Once your eyebrows have finished peeling, they will be very light in colour or a light pink shade depending on your skin tone. Do not worry, the colour will come back.
- Remember to protect your eyebrows with sunscreen whenever you’re out in the sun.
DAY 14 - 28
- The colour of your tattooed eyebrows will gradually return during this period, but the outcome may vary depending on the individual.
- You can resume wearing makeup on your brows past 14 days.
- You can resume exercise past 28 days.
DAY 42 - 56
- We highly recommend that you schedule a touch-up appointment for additional pigment and shape adjustments.

Cleaning & Caring for your New Eyebrows
Cleaning
- Gently dab eyebrows with a clean tissue as needed. This is to minimize any natural skin fluids that may arise following your fresh brows.
- To wash your eyebrows, use a gentle cleanser that does not have active ingredients such as retinol, exfoliants, or salicylic acid. An example of cleansers you can use include Dove, Cetaphil, Ceravae, and other simple face washes. Softly clean your eyebrows in a circular motion, and rinse. Pat gently until brows are dry – do not wipe/rub.
Nourishing
Apple a rice-grain size amount of ointment per brow with a clean cotton tip.
Showering
- Before showering, apply a thicker layer of ointment to protect your brows from getting wet.
- Avoid long and steamy showers. After showering, dab off the ointment with a very thin layer.
- DO NOT pick at scabs. Let them fall off naturally to prevent scarring.
- DO NOT apply brow makeup for 14 days. Your brows are healing, and makeup may cause infections.
- DO NOT get your brows wet for long periods. No swimming, steam/sauna, tanning, or excessive sweating on your brows. This can disrupt the scabbing process.
- DO NOT use face scrubs, chemical peels, or exfoliations on the brow area for 14 days. If you use AHA/BHA, glycolic or salicylic acid in your skincare routine, avoid the brow area.
Remember, every individual’s healing process may vary, and it’s crucial to follow these aftercare instructions diligently.
If you suspect any of the following have appeared on your eyebrows: prolonged swelling & pain, painful or smelly pus, unusual redness or lumps that surround the eyebrows, these may be an indication of an infection. Please contact us and your doctor immediately.
At Nouveau Canvas Ink, your satisfaction and well-being are our top priorities. By following these aftercare guidelines, you can ensure that your beautiful brows will continue to turn heads and boost your confidence for years to come.
